Is Sidney Sexy?

Hand chosen by The Great One himself as most likely to break Gretzky's many own NHL records - Sidney Crosby arguably defines Excellence. He is an NHL alpha male leading the playoffs with 17 points. As one of the youngest players to ever lace his skates with a 'C' on his sweater our Canadian star was and continues to be heavily scrutinized. Figuritively he flipped the bird to the doubters - natural talent and hard work bred a stallion and Crosby lead his team to kiss the Stanley in '09. Typically as team "wolf or vampire" go in the fantasy world there is team play-maker or goal scorer. You're a fan of the kid, or of the cocky Russian. It's undeniable that Alexander Ovechkin is an intimidating factor when skating at a tender like a rocket, his stick on fire. But just because Ovechkin can light up any teams' goalie, doesn't necessarily make him...well...better. And for arguement sake...while Crosby is fighting through the second round of the playoffs against the Canadiens, Captain Moscow got burned by the underdog in the first. Both players are 2 of 3 finalists alongside Vancouver's Henrik Sedin for the Ted Lindsay Award - otherwise known as "Most Outstanding Player" judged by fellow members of the National Hockey League Player's Association (NHLPA) - to be announced in June. O-V has run away with it the last couple years but if I could slip a piece of paper into the hat... my vote would undoubtedly be for Sid the Kid.
Getting away with his fair share of dirty hits, and his overwhelming arrogance I would be quick to base my team around a player like Sidney Crosby over Ovechkin. It was easy to dishonor the Washington's Captain when his ego flared during his degrading "hot hands, hot stick" celebration against Tampa Bay after scoring his 50th goal. Failing to show a bow of humility, notice how his teamates disregarded his pride? Hot hands, Hot head and a toothless smile, I must admit that on the sexy list - OV just doesn't make the cut.

So what exactly is it about Sidney Crosby that makes him SEXY?

Evidently. I have a ...thing for reebok wearing, quick step dangling, side smile charming hockey players. I wear the ears proud because it's not exactly how it seems. I'm attracted to talent. Any athletic talent, but typically the ones that lace up in the winter and show up for beers at my golf course in the summer. The kid isn't attractive because his dark locks. Sidney Crosby is sexy because he is FUCKING GOOD! Confident without acting like a cock-job, he's unmistakbly a fabulous hockey player without being a show-off. He doesn't hog the ice, he shares it. Something you can't say for the unyielding Ovechkin. Sidney Crosby makes the team around him better and for that I raise my glass before following up on my original question and ending on gender distinctive note.


Althletes are in female demand because of their hots. But what makes them hot is a combination of SURE a pretty face ...but the deciding factor --- the ability to excel at their sport. ...and not be a complete dick about it.

Wes Cotton - Rugby
Andy Roddick - Tennis

And so I rest my case.

Sidney Crosby is sexy.

Why? Because he's great.
